Meeting Wednesday Jan 23rd - HSMM - High Speed Multi-Media

Postby AJ4XM » Wed Jan 16, 2013 12:50 pm

Happy New Year and may this be the best year ever for you and Amateur Radio. (We are at an all time high in US Amateur Radio Licenses!)

HSMM is one of the many new frontiers of Ham Radio and we have someone who has been doing this for some time as our presenter. Mike McIntosh, KJ4RHP, Vice-President of the Boca Raton Amateur Radio Association will be talking about HSMM - High Speed Multi-Media. What is HSMM? How can it be used to enhance ham radio events? What is involved in creating a HSMM network for the county?

This is your chance to hear and see what all the excitement is about from one of those on the front lines. This is a meeting you definitely do not want to miss. It is an easy thing to get started in, many of you probably already have the equipment and don't know it. For those that do not you can get into this for less than $50. And incrementally build up from that as high or sophisticated as you want. (Even at the high end it is way less than a mid-price HF rig).

We also have a Radio Raffle at this meeting where we will be giving away another new Wouxun 2m/70cm HT. It could be yous for $2. Plus we always have time for some eyeball QSOs and refreshments.

The meeting starts at 7PM and the presentation by 8PM. We will have a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, and Raffle away a radio! All this and more is yours if you choose what's behind the door to the Museum.

Remember our "Lasting Moments of First Excitement" fund raising project is going on now. We know Amateur Radio has had a significant impact on the technological developments of the 20th century. And we want to excite and inspire young minds with Amateur Radio to continue that tradition in the 21st century. The youth of today are not just the future of Amateur Radio but the future of scientific discovery.

We invite you to visit and recommend to everyone else our Indiegogo project at and join with us in creating "Lasting Moments of First Excitement".
