Friday-Saturday October 10th - 11th - Melbourne Hamfest -
This is one of the larger Hamfests in the State and is also the Florida State ARL Convention. Sponsored by the Platinum Coast Amateur Radio Society (PCARS) at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Blvd, Melbourne, Florida 32901. This is just a few minutes east of I-95. It's one of the Hamfests that has something for everyone. Good outdoor swap tables and tailgating plus indoor swap tables and various small vendors. A good place to find a usable old radio or a late model unit that has been moved out to make room for new adventures. There are always bargains to be found, but get there early for the best deals. They go fast at this Hamfest.
For more details visit http://www.pcars.org and follow the links to the Hamfest pages.

Sunday October 12th - "End Hunger Now Walk" (formerly the CROS Walk) in downtown West Palm Beach -
This starts at the church just North of Okeechobee on Flagler Drive and groups walk North a couple of miles and then back again. Hams provide the Public Service communications for this and all you need is a HT on 2 Meters. We position about a dozen volunteers along the course and at the Net Control Station at the church. It generally runs from about 2PM til 4PM and operators from all clubs are invited to participate. Contact is Rex Rathbun, AJ4GC.

Thursday October 16th - 7:00PM - Palms West Amateur Radio Club meeting -
